Staff members at Cellars-Hohenort hotel picked up their knitting needles in honour of Nelson Mandela for Mandela Day this year. A project they have been working on for the past two months, passionately knitting baby beanies, booties, jerseys and blankets for newborns.

These woolen items were hand delivered to Groote Schuur neonatal maternity ward on Mandela day.  Sister Hendry accompanied the team around the ward and introduced them to some moms and their newborn babies.  In their 67 minutes, beautiful hand stitched baby blankets, beanies, booties and jersey sets were presented to moms and their babies.

Moms and maternity staff were delighted with the warm, woolen items knitted by the Cellars-Hohenort team.
