Groote Schuur Hospital Facility Board is governed by the Western Cape Health Facility Board act no 4 of 2016. Health & Facilities Board Act

The overall purpose of the Board is to ensure accountability of the health facility management to the community and responsiveness to the needs of patients and their families.

It also aims to ensure community support for health facilities and their programs.
